Favourites!

The song from Notting Hill, which haunts like crazy :
Artist: Elvis Costello
Song: She

She May be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She
May be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She May be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
The smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell

She
Who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She
May be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I'll remember till the day I die

She
May be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough in ready years
Me
I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is

She
She, oh she

Ok, here are some of my favourites ->

1. Favourite Movie - Jerry Maguire
2. Favourtie Scene - The last scene in Notting Hill where Hugh Grant is sitting on a park bench, reading, with a book in one hand, and Julia Roberts is lying on the bench, with her head in Hugh Grant's lap; both of them holding hands. Beautiful scene. (This is what the script says : And as the camera glides, it passes a couple sitting on a single, simple wooden bench overlooking the garden. He is reading, she is just looking out, totally relaxed, holding his hand, pregnant. It is William and Anna.) (Notting Hill)
3. Favourite OST song - Things have changed, by Bob Dylan, from the movie
4. Favourite OST album - Notting Hill
5. Favourite Song - Peace on Earth, by U2 (scroll down!)
6. Favourite Writer - Salman Rushdie
7. Favourite Actor(s) - Nicholas Cage and John Travolta
8. Favourite Group - U2.

My All time fav song....probably:

All That You Can't Leave Behind
"Peace On Earth"

Heaven on Earth, we need it now
I'm sick of all of this hanging around
Sick of sorrow, sick of the pain
I'm sick of hearing again and again
That there's gonna be peace on Earth

Where I grew up there weren't many trees
Where there was we'd tear them down
And use them on our enemies
They say that what you mock
Will surely overtake you
And you become a monster
So the monster will not break you

And it's already gone too far
Who said that if you go in hard
You won't get hurt

Jesus can you take the time
To throw a drowning man a line
Peace on Earth
Tell the ones who hear no sound
Whose sons are living in the ground
Peace on Earth
No whos or whys
No one cries like a mother cries
For peace on Earth
She never got to say goodbye
To see the color in his eyes
Now he's in the dirt
Peace on Earth

They're reading names out over the radio
All the folks the rest of us won't get to know
Sean and Julia, Gareth, Ann and Breda
Their lives are bigger than any big idea

Jesus can you take the time
To throw a drowning man a line
Peace on Earth
To tell the ones who hear no sound
Whose sons are living in the ground
Peace on Earth
Jesus sing a song you wrote
The words are sticking in my throat
Peace on Earth
Hear it every Christmas time
But hope and history won't rhyme
So what's it worth
This peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth
Peace on Earth

Few thoughts

CAT is over.
Now I can get back to living my life.
So many many books to read.

Few thoughts here:
1. I remeber discussing with Anu how ppl in Mumbai are so amazing at finding some way or the other to make a living. Well, this is the only city (that I have lived in) where they make "American Chopsuey Dosas". I recently had an American Chopsuey Dosa (not bad at all) with scheqwan sauce! Thats a global dish!
2. I have finished "The Age of Kali", and have now begun reading "Lajja". Its about something I had not expected. I really don't understand why the book was banned. I just hope human beings would be mature enough to read the book and instead of reacting badly, they would realise their mistakes and not repeat them. They say, two minds are better than one. But honestly I think one mind is less dangerous than two (or more than two) minds!
3. Chelsea are through to the last 16 of the Champions League. MAN U are in real good form (which is not good!). Real Madrid are still struggling, I hope they make some good purchases in the winter transfer window (they need a good, stable, defensive mid filder who can protect the back 4...someone like CLAUDE MAKALELE!).
4. YAWN!
5. I love wada pav and bhajia pav! :)
6. I need some changes in my life. Loads of books to read...yippie!
7. Yawn again!
