Shirdi Sai Baba

I went to Shirdi with my relatives on the weekend.
We left on saturday, early morning at about 7a.m. Stopped on the way for breakfast. Passed through Nasik and reached Shirdi by about 1p.m. The ride was good. Nasik to Shirdi was minimal traffic.

Shirdi was wonderful.
It was eye-opening.
Attended the aarti in the evening.
Was beautiful.

We stayed the night at Sun and Sand. Was good fun, although neither the pool table nor the fooseball table were working. There was however, a buffet dinner and breakfast. The cake with dinner was real good!

We started back for bombay on sunday at about 9a.m. and managed to reach back by 2p.m. (just in time for lunch!)
After lunch, I am back in office!

Well, such is life.
But the trip was great.

Current Book

I am currently reading The Life of Pi, by Yann Martel.

A BAD start to the new year

The below is fact, NOT fiction. :(

had a real horrifying incident yesterday night.
i live on the 15th floor...
was in the lift going up to my flat.
the lift reached the 13th floor...and broke...it bloody just broke.
electricity was fine...the rope bloody broke! stones and whatnot started falling on the top of the lift like a bloody downpour...shit i was scared. the lift was tottering...there was another person in the lift...

anyways, somehow that other person was really cool...so i came to my senses and started ringing the bell in the lift...and somehow i managed to open the inner door of the lift. kept ringing the bell, untill finally the watchman on duty came to our rescue. he opened the outer door of the lift from outside...with some sort of key.

the lift was stuck midway between the 13th floor and the 14th floor...however, there was some place to squeeze thru..

god know how close to death i was...am very very shaken...cant trust the lifts anymore. today i walked down all 15 floors, remembered i had forgotten my jacket, walked back up 15 floors and then walked back down 15 floors...

damn...i had the IIFT enterance test today....was so freaked...messed up the paper...
